Everyone feels down from time to time, but do you know how to identify and help a mate struggling with depression or anxiety? Untreated depression can negatively affect a person’s life and those around them, but talking about it openly can reduce the stigma surrounding it and offer hope.
Topics covered in this talk include:
- Identifying the signs & symptoms for depression & anxiety
- Learning evidence based treatments for depression and anxiety
- Recognising and responding to thoughts of suicide
- Explaining what’s involved in the Mental Health First Aid course
- Discussing further Mental Health resources and tools
FREE for all Perth Broncos members and their families. $10 for General Admission, open to the public. Part of the proceeds from this talk goes to Lifeline WA.
This talk is presented by Jackie McRae, trainer for Lifeline WA. Jackie’s qualifications include B App Sc. (Sport Science), P Grad Bio Sc. (Health Promotion) Grad Dip Ed. (Training & Development), Grad Dip Psych, and Principal Mental Health First Aid Trainer.
